TruLight vs Gemstone: compare the system in your quote

If you are choosing between Lifetime Lights and a Gemstone installer, start with the equipment each proposal includes. Gemstone lists both Hub and newer Hub2 controls. An older comparison video may not describe a current quote. Lifetime Lights installs TruLight in the Phoenix metro; use this guide to ask both installers the same useful questions.

Talk through your project

Controller generation and the finished white-light scene

Name the controller

Put the controller and app generation on each proposal. Similar brand names do not mean identical hardware or software.

See white in person

Gemstone markets warm-white scenes. Compare the actual output against your paint or stone; do not rely on a blanket claim that a competing system has no white light.

Match the elevations

Compare the same front and side sections. More included track can explain a higher total even before product differences matter.

Watch the TruLight comparison

This video comes from the TruLight dealer library. It is not a Lifetime Lights test. Product versions and features may have changed since filming; use the current manufacturer references below when reviewing a quote.

A demonstration for your Arizona facade

Ask each installer to show a quiet white scene and a two-color pattern at similar brightness. Look from the driveway and near a window, not only directly below the light. If the house has a recessed entry, discuss how the roofline will interact with the existing porch fixture. A sample helps you decide what looks right; a chip label alone cannot make that choice.

Separate product support from the installer relationship

Gemstone uses authorized dealers, and Lifetime Lights is your local point of contact for a TruLight installation. Ask who diagnoses a failed section and which parts of a service visit are covered. Keep the written hardware and labor terms with your proposal. Do not compare a manufacturer headline against an installer promise as though they cover the same work.

Ask both installers to demonstrate

  • The exact controller and app being supplied.
  • A low-brightness white scene on a similar exterior finish.
  • Independent settings on the front and side of the house.
  • The steps for a repair request after installation.

Questions before you choose

Does the older Gemstone video cover Hub2?

Do not assume it does. Use the video as background and check the controller generation in the current Gemstone proposal.

Can Lifetime Lights quote the same roofline as another installer?

Share the covered elevations and requested features with the team. Matching the scope makes price and equipment differences easier to assess.
