Define the line before choosing a scene
Trim-aware placement
Compare track samples against the trim, and view them from ground level. A close-up product photo cannot show how the whole elevation will look.
Accessible equipment
Ask where the controller and power connections will sit. A tidy installation still needs practical access when troubleshooting is required.
Fascia, parapets, and recessed entries
Not every exterior has an exposed eave suited to the same track profile. A flush wall, a stepped roof edge, and a deep overhang present different mounting questions. Send clear daytime photos of those transitions to Lifetime Lights. Confirm the mounting surface before treating a rough footage measurement as a final installation price.
Do not let a garage dominate the plan
Stand where you normally approach the house and note which edges draw your eye first. A long garage line can overpower a smaller entry if everything has the same intensity. Discuss whether to separate those sections in the controls and use a quieter scene near windows. The goal is a readable outline at the brightness you will actually use.
Keep roof work and lighting work coordinated
Tell the installer about upcoming painting or roof repairs before choosing a date. Ask which surfaces the lighting attaches to, how a future contractor can work around it, and who should remove or refit components if needed. Do not assume a lighting installation changes the terms of an existing roof warranty.

- Start and end points for each illuminated section.
- Corners, returns, and any changes in roof height.
- Trim that will be painted or repaired soon.
- Where the house is viewed from the street and driveway.
Questions before you choose
Can a flat-roof home have permanent lighting?
Possibly. The mounting surface and track arrangement need to be checked for that property. Share photos rather than assuming a standard eave detail will fit.
Should every roof edge be included?
No. Coverage can follow the elevations you use and see. Ask Lifetime Lights to define the included sections so the installation and quote agree.
