TruLight vs Trimlight: look at the track in daylight

Both the fixture and its mounting remain on your home when the lights are off. Trimlight describes a near-invisible channel, professional dealer installation, and its Edge app. Lifetime Lights installs TruLight. Compare the fit on your own facade before making a decision from a holiday video.

Track appearance, spacing, and everyday operation

Daylight appearance

Look at track color and the profile below the eave. A good match in a catalog may look different against your existing trim.

Spacing

Trimlight advertises different spacing options. Ask which is quoted and how the resulting rhythm compares with the TruLight layout.

Current app

Compare today's controls on the supplied equipment. An old app-store score is not a useful substitute for trying your usual tasks.

Watch the TruLight comparison

This video comes from the TruLight dealer library. It is not a Lifetime Lights test. Product versions and features may have changed since filming; use the current manufacturer references below when reviewing a quote.

Choose a sample location that exposes differences

A corner, recessed entry, or change in fascia height is more informative than a straight display board. Ask how the track meets those transitions and where any connecting wire will be visible. On a light-painted exterior, compare samples in daylight and at dusk. The installation detail should be part of your evaluation, even if both light scenes look appealing.

Read warranty language at the same level

Trimlight advertises a lifetime product warranty. That does not by itself describe labor, service visits, exclusions, or coverage on every component. Request the actual terms from each installer, including Lifetime Lights. Keep the comparison at the component and service level rather than presenting a warranty headline as proof that one installation can never cost anything to repair.

Compare the installation you will see every day

  • A track sample beside your trim.
  • The light spacing in each written quote.
  • A white scene and a saved holiday setting.
  • Service-call and labor terms, not only warranty headlines.

Questions before you choose

Does the advertised channel appearance settle the choice?

No. Review the actual profile, color, and mounting approach on a surface like your own home.

Are app ratings included in this comparison?

No. Ratings change and do not establish how the quoted controller handles your lighting tasks. Try the current app instead.
